The crew will depart Port Macquarie in the morning before a visit to Cundletown Public School and a ‘Meet the Riders’ charity lunch at Club Taree.
They will then finish at Forster before continuing down the coast the next day.
Riders left Grafton earlier this week to take on the 538 kilometre cycling challenge. They will finish in Newcastle on Saturday, September 15.
Riders hope to raise $200,000 in the challenge.
All proceeds will be used for the family retreat at Forster, Ronald McDonald Houses in Newcastle and Tamworth, family rooms at John Hunter Children’s Hospital and Gosford Hospital as well as the learning program.
Founding RFSK rider Brett Hadley said all participants are driven to complete the challenge as the funds raised make a difference to those in need.
“When I was introduced to the work of Ronald McDonald House Charities over a decade ago, I was compelled to use my passion for cycling to help support the cause.
“RMHC means a great deal to many people and it’s been fantastic to watch Ride For Sick Kids Northern NSW grow from strength to strength over the years.
“As a father of two, I get a tremendous sense of pride when putting on the RFSK jersey - this year will be no exception.
“When we’re on the road, I look forward to talking to the locals about cycle safety while raising funds to help families and their sick children stay together,” Mr Hadley said.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW CEO and RFSK rider Ross Bingham said the organisation is thrilled to host the 14th ride in the region.
“Through the generosity of the community, RMHC continues to be a place that local families can rely on while they care for a sick or injured child.
“This year, we’re hoping to raise in excess of $200,000 to ensure that families can stay together during these stressful and difficult times, and make the road to recovery as easy as possible,” Mr Bingham said.
Ronald McDonald Houses provide a home away from home for families, allowing them to stay close to their sick or injured child while they receive treatment in nearby hospitals.
Last year, Ronald McDonald Houses across Northern New South Wales have provided over 15,900 nights of accommodation to more than 690 families.
