In a 'man-of-the-match' performance Glenn Gilford ensured that he and his skip wife Leonie now progress to the semis of the competition by defeating the more fancied pairing of Terry Rowe and Lillian Cross. The deciding factor in the game was the multiple end scores that Leonie and Glenn got in their 24-20 victory.

In an earlier catch-up round one game Elaine and Peter Holden got away to an early lead of 13-5 on the 10th end and luckily they retained the lead against the fast finishing Denise Matheson and Graeme Mansfield with the final score favouring the Holdens 21-19.
In the second round the Holdens also got away well to be in front by seven shots midway into the match against Greg Bartlett and Claudia O'Donnell. However the tide changed with the Holdens exiting the event by going down 26-18.
In a strong performance the Dennes pairing of Glen and Laurelle now progress with their 24-17 victory against Peter and Carol Kriss.
The very experienced pair of Graeme Ireland and Alana Burns also progress after their 23-5 win against Snow Trenchard and L Parnell.
