Hi, readers. Isn’t the spring weather wonderful? The children seem to think so anyway. I’ve noticed them riding their bikes and visiting friends after school now the days are getting a little longer. It’s good to see at least some of them outside in the fresh air exercising more.

The drawback is some drivers are a little complacent. I’m sad to say locals are as at fault as much as travellers through the town. We should all remember that as children we didn’t always think of the road rules when playing or riding bikes and scooters on the road. It is up to us, the adults, to remember to look for them and keep them safe.
Please obey the speed limits through the little towns and don’t cause accidents when all that is needed is a little care.
A reminder to all our Red Cross Club members. Don’t forget there is a light luncheon and fun afternoon at the hall on November 9. All proceeds will be donated to drought relief and sent somewhere where there has been no relief for farmers. It will be distributed by the CWA. Some recipients have even asked to be allowed to put the money aside for Christmas so Santa can at least send the children something. How thoughtful.
If you would like to help come along and join in the fun. If you can’t join us you are welcome to just come along and give a donation, it doesn’t matter how small, while we are at the hall and we will gladly send it on.
Our branch is so small and so far flung we don’t often have the chance to get together with our members and those of other clubs and branches. So if you’d like to join we’d be pleased to welcome you as most of our members are between 50 and 80 years and we need some new “blood” to continue helping those less fortunate. You will gain friends for life.
I have been asked to remind all dancers of the dinner dance at Cattreys Flat on Saturday, November 24. Ring Lola on 6550 7593 to book a table and get more information on this. Hope to see you there with your dancing shoes on.
