The project started on Monday, August 13 with preliminary repairs to the top of the road, edges and gutters.
A maintenance crew will dig up and repair the surface of the road this week.

Bollards will also be erected along the edge of the road.
PCYC Taree club manager Justin Hayes said the repairs have been a long time coming and should not take long to complete.
“It got to a point where it was presenting too many safety issues like cars going all over the road to avoid the holes,” Justin said.
“The whole project should take about three weeks.”
Many organisations across the Manning like Taree Craft Cottage, Centrepoint Cafe and Taree Lions Club assisted with fund raising for the project.
The club itself held numerous fundraisers such as the Manning River Rumble boxing event and PCYC Showcase.
PCYC will also provide financial support.
“More funds will be needed but we needed to start now,” Justin said.
Justin estimated more than 1500 people visit the club in vehicles each week.
As access to the road is currently one-way, motorists are advised to be careful when travelling on site.

In a win for the newly relocated Taree Community Garden, pipes will be laid under the road to give them access to water.
“We’’ll be looking at a power supply at a later date,” Justin said.
In light of the repairs, a shed adjacent to the entrance of the centre will be looked at as a new space for members.
“We’ll be looking at what we can do with it, we could use it for something like an activity space,” Justin said.
“We’ve got a few ideas floating around.”
