The Preliminary Final in Group 3 Rugby League was played at Lank Bain Oval at Wauchope on Sunday, and Wingham's last remaining hope, the Reserve Grade team, was up against the Port City Breakers with the winner to progress to the grand final.

The Tigers started badly with two tries against them in the first five minutes to trail 10-0.
With a strong wind behind them, Wingham clawed their way back in the game.
Ten minutes from half time, Adam Kerr ran out from dummy half to score near the posts. Ben Griffiths added the extra points.
Trailing 10-6 at the break, the second half was a disaster for the Tigers.
Port City scored in the 3rd, 7th, 11th, 15th, 18th and 21st minutes to race ahead 40-6.
Joel Wilson and Jesse Pietrzak were Wingham's best. Port City go on to play Port Macquarie in the Grand Final in both First and Reserve Grades.
