Shop 44, an initiative of the Freemasons of Taree, Wingham, Gloucester, Forster/Tuncurry and Laurieton, has opened for business in the ground floor of the Taree Masonic Centre in Albert Street, Taree (opposite the Post Office).

All the staff are volunteers including the shop manager, Wal Riley and assistant manager, Jan Stevens.
All profits from the shop will be donated to local charities, Wal Riley said that it is hoped to build on the efforts of the local lodges which have raised more than $150,000 for charities in the last few years.
Donations of clothing, footwear, linen and bric a brac will be gladly received, unfortunately it is not possible to accept furniture or electrical items.
