Nine of the 12 places have already been taken, LMS Mid North Coast manager Trent Thomson said.
The 12 sides will be allotted into three pools, with preliminary games played at Taree Recreation Centre, Old Bar Reserve, Trad Fields at Old Bar and South Street at Tuncurry on the Saturday.
Winner of the pools will meet in the semi-finals on Sunday, with the finals that afternoon.
There’ll be a $1000 prizemoney pool along with the Nick Larkin player of the series. Nominations have already been received from Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Newcastle and Wollongong.
Team nominations close on August 31. Contact Trent on 0449 544 327 or taree@lastmanstands.com.au
Trent said the cup will be a perfect preparation for teams leading into the 2018/19 season. Games will be played under Last Man Stands rules, with eight players per side and five ball overs. Games take two hours to complete.
