Local branch staff and customers are working together to fundraise for the organisation, which is delivering much needed hay to assist farmers in the New England region.
On Thursday, July 27 the branch is hosting a local fundraising day, where customers and visitors will be able to enjoy seeing a large number of local business staff in Wingham wearing their flannelette shirts on the day.

In addition, you are invited to buy tickets in a raffle with 22 prizes donated by Wingham businesses. The tickets can be bought from the bank and other Wingham businesses, with all proceeds going to support this very worthy cause. The raffle will be drawn on August 17.
The branch has a goal of $15,000 and have raised $1150 to date.
The Wingham community will be helping the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners provide important relief for farmers through in-store fundraisers, customer and staff donations over the next few weeks.
“It is great to see local branch staff and customers coming together to support our local farmers who are going through a time of significant hardship,” Commonwealth Bank Wingham branch manager, Jaimie Mathiske said.
“The Burrumbuttock Hay Runners are doing inspiring and important work by supporting farms across the region. When we first heard about the initiative we knew we had to take part and help make a difference in our community.”
All 162 Commonwealth Bank branches in regional NSW and ACT will be supporting the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners, with customers also able to donate $20 towards a bale of hay that will be displayed in branch.
The funds raised will be used to purchase hay and fuel the trucks transporting it across the state.
Set up in 2014, the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners have completed 11 successful hay runs to help drought affected farmers all over NSW and Queensland. The last hay run in April 2016 used 258 trucks and 406 trailers to deliver $6 million of hay, feeding 300,000 animals.
Commonwealth Bank has range of support measures available for regional and agribusiness customers experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the drought. Customers should contact their relationship manager, phone 1300 772 968 or visit their nearest Commonwealth Bank branch to find out more.
