The Bureau of Meteorology says Wednesday’s forecast maximum is 21 after an overnight low of six degrees Celsius.
The forecast for Thursday and Friday is similar, but temperatures will dip over the weekend, with a maximum of 17 for Saturday and 18 on Sunday, with overnight lows of 4 and 3 respectively.
The bureau says a high pressure ridge lies across northern New South Wales while a cold front skims across the southeast this evening and overnight. The ridge will briefly become dominant later Wednesday, before the next cold front later Thursday and Friday.
For the record, the lowest recorded temperature for Taree was -4 degrees on July 14, 2002.
