The event attracted a large crowd, with everyone enjoying a delicious assortment of food provided by the members.
A huge raffle was held and won by thrilled lucky ticket holders – most of the prizes were baskets of lovely handmade items donate by group members.
The morning tea raised more than $400 for the Cancer Council.
In addition, a cheque for $700 was presented by Wingham Spinners and Craft Group president, Lyn Hull to Max and Marion Townsend for Street Reach. The amount was raised from the proceeds of another successful raffle of handmade goods, made and donated by our group members, which was drawn at the Bonnie Wingham Scottish Festival.
Wingham Street Reach, is a local and very deserving, organisation operated by Marion and Max Townsend, who are the sole operators and who, at their own cost and time, travel the streets of the local area at night helping to keep our youth and members of our local community safe whilst we are warm in our beds at night. We hope that this cheque will help them in this most worthy cause.
A very big thank you to all for helping to make this day a great success, supporting our local community, in both these very worthwhile causes.
