The young comic artist was amazed to discover a signed sketch from Garfield creator Jim Davis had arrived for him at the Wingham Chronicle office.
All the way from Indiana USA.
Bowie was featured in the Chronicle a couple of weeks ago with his own comic book illustration of Spotty the dog inspired by the Garfield comic strip.
After reading the story online, an assistant of Jim Davis contacted the Chronicle and said how touched Jim had been to read about Bowie.

From the Paws Inc headquarters Jim’s team then posted Bowie’s personalised sketch.
Included was a little note from Jim which read:
“Thank you for being a fan, Bowie. Keep drawing – some day Spotty is going to be a star!”
Bowie’s mum Emma-Lea brought Bowie to the Chronicle office to pick up the picture and said how excited Bowie had been.
“It’s pretty special,” she said.
Bowie himself couldn’t stop grinning.
He now plans to frame the sketch and put it on his bedroom wall.
He also wants to write to Jim Davis and say a very big thank you.
