Nearly 130 runners completed the five kilometre course, with several regulars away in other parts of the State, including event director Margie Lewis.
The figure didn’t include those who only did one lap of the course.
Taree was the first centre in the Mid North Coast to start parkrun in 2015. Port Macquarie and more recently, Forster-Tuncurry followed. There have now been 158 runs in Taree. There’s never been a run lost because of bad weather. Taree parkrun even celebrated the arrival of 2018 with a run on New Year’s Day
The run starts and finishes in Endeavour Place, near Manning River Rowing Club, with runners negotiating a two lap course along the Manning River Foreshore. It’s free and will be on again this Saturday from 8am.
