Wingham High School student Emily Brood was the recipient of the Tom Woolard Memorial Award, winning herself a judging course at Tocal College.
Chatham High’s Keely Dyer received the Paul vanWeerdemburg Memorial Shield, presented each year to a Chatham High Student who has excelled at Wingham Beef Week.
Under warm skies student after student was presented with ribbons, trophies, hats and even sacks of cattle feed.
Not to forget the tireless efforts of those behind the scenes, a special appreciation award was presented to Nola Pereira and her team of canteen volunteers who have been serving around 320 meals, three times a day to the hungry competitors.
The 31st Annual Wingham Beef Week was another successful event attracting 410 junior competitors including 100 independents and 28 schools.
The Calrossy Anglican School took home the coveted ribbon for grand champion carcase.
