On show for the past six weeks, it recognises the skills and diversity of 16 artists living in our region.
"We go behind the scenes to see them in their own creative spaces and studios and see how they work,” said gallery director Rachel Piercy, who curated the exhibition with assistant director Jane Hosking.
“It’s a fascinating peek for local art lovers who will be familiar with many art works produced by the artists.”
Those artists are Ali Haigh, Jane Hosking, Peter Hugill, Yvette Hugill, Stephen Michael King, Kaz Madigan, Wendie Patch, Jana Pearceova, Rick Reynolds, Raechel Saunders, Russell Saunders, Peter Schouten, Andy Snelgar, Rod Spicer, Steve Williams and Shona Wilson.
A partnership with the Manning River Times and Fairfax Media saw journalist Lauren Green and photographer Scott Calvin visit each artist in their studio over the past 12 months, producing profile stories for the exhibition and online publications.
Those stories are continuing to roll out.
Scott's portrait photographs are on exhibition, while film of the interviews provides a multimedia narrative during the viewing experience.
The exhibition is part of a 30th anniversary celebration of the Manning Regional Art Gallery and its achievements.
Also closing this Sunday is ‘The Amber Rooms’, featuring the work of four Newcastle-based artists. Entry to the exhibitions is free. The gallery is open Wednesdays to Saturdays 10am to 4pm and Sundays 1pm to 4pm.
