The official day to host a morning tea is Thursday, May 24 but anyone can host an event in May or June.
By hosting an event, participants will help Cancer Council NSW continue life-saving cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support programs.
Northern NSW Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea co-ordinator Christina Mastoris said there are plenty of ways for locals to host a morning tea.
“Taking part is easy – simply register online as a host, set a date in May or June and start sending out your invites,” Ms Mastoris said.
“An event can be anything from a small gathering at home or in your workplace to a community bake off competition in your local area.”
Cancer Council NSW hopes to have more than 11,100 morning tea hosts this year, with 1200 of those from northern NSW.
Those who want to host can register at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85 to receive a free morning tea host kit.
Donations can also be made to the Cancer Council on their website.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the largest and most successful event of its kind in the country.
Since the event began in 1994, supporters have raised more than $192 million through hosting morning teas.
