Carolyn spent a couple of hours speaking with the executive members and caught up on activities since her last visit.
She was pleased to see the progress with the display shed which is nearing completion.
The Society is holding it’s next monthly meeting on Thursday, March 22, and it hoped to confirm the next garage sale date as May 5.
Thankfully the recent rain has brought the garden along and thanks also to members Helen and Ron who have put in countless hours getting it back into order and the flowers are looking lovely.
A small group from Northcott Services recently paid a visit and enjoyed their time at the Museum.
Groups large and small can be catered for by the members who just need notice of their intending visit so members can be on hand to welcome and show them around.
Condolences
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the late Yvonne Edna Ross of Manning Point whose funeral was conducted at St. Luke’s Anglican Church Tinonee, by Rev Brian Ford on Thursday, March 8, followed by burial in the Tinonee General Cemetery. Family and friends later gathered at the Tinonee Memorial School of Arts for the wake.
Birthday Wishes
Some special people in my life will be enjoying their birthday this week, firstly my Aunt Gwen Greaves who celebrates on Friday, March 16, and to cousin Denyse Budd, and friend Bev Clancy, who both have another birthday on St Patrick’s Day, March 17. Hope you all enjoy the day and have many more.
St Patrick’s Day Luncheon
Tinonee Red Cross’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon will be held tomorrow, Thursday 15, at Tinonee Memorial Hall, and all funds raised will be going towards the 70th anniversary of the Red Cross Calling Appeal. I hope to have a full report and some pictures next week.
School News
Students of Tinonee Public School will be participating in the Colour Explosion with the main event being a fun run commencing at 1pm, on March 20. This event will follow on from the school cross country run from 9am until 11am.
Parents and carers are reminded that this date is also the AGM of the P&C at 6.30pm, and will then be followed by a general meeting. Please come along and support this important role in the school community.
