Craig will attend a Wingham Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday, February 28 to discuss his idea to honour Corey in his home town.
“There’s a grandstand named after him in Taree,” said Craig.
“But he’s a Wingham boy. It’s about time Wingham showed Corey Brown is from Wingham.”
The Corey Brown Pavilion was named in January 2010 at the Bushland Drive race track after Brown’s win the previous year on Shocking in the Melbourne Cup.
In November 2017 Brown once again won the cup steering Rekindling to a win.
“I’m a Wingham boy through and through,’’ said an emotional Corey Brown after the race.
Craig hopes his idea will gain momentum once in the hands of the chamber members.
