The stand out though, with a big thumbs up was the newly constructed campdraft yard
The clinic was run by 21 times Australian Campdraft Association (ACA) champion, open campdraft rider (and many more accolades to his name) Pete Comiskey.
Twenty enthusiastic riders were present to learn the tricks of the trade to the addictive and fast growing sport of campdrafting.
Plenty of fun was had with beautiful weather, great cattle and lots of fantastic helpers and onlookers assisting with cattle, food and drinks.
The stand out though, with a big thumbs up was the newly constructed campdraft yard.
Pete himself commended the club and its supporters on the construction and overall look of the new yard.
Wingham Campdraft club committee members agree the club wants to give back to the Wingham Showground and it’s users and to the Wingham community.
The showground is used by the club for monthly training days and clinics.
The club held it’s inaugural campdraft in May 2017.
Funds raised from these events, as well as contributions from the Manning Junior Rodeo committee and the show society have enabled these much needed upgrades.
With the support of the community, and the many horse events that are held at Wingham Showground, the club hopes to continue to improve the grounds over time.
The club is hoping to host this years Wingham Show Campdraft on March 11 during the Wingham Show.
The 2018 Wingham Show will be held Friday March 9, Saturday March 10 and Sunday March 11.
Although finding cattle in the current drought is proving difficult, the committee is determined to test out the new yard at the show before their three day annual Wingham Campdraft Club Inc draft in August this year.
The event will see nearly 800 runs over the weekend and hopefully some great prizes donated by local businesses.
If you wish to support or contribute to this great rural community event, the club is always looking for sponsorship.

The club said they will give you a good plug over the PA all day as well as a mention in the monthly ABCRA magazine.
