“The collaboration between Taree Arts Council and the Manning Entertainment Centre allowed a unique chance for people from the Manning Valley, Port Macquarie area and the Central Coast to be tutored by one of Australia’s most stellar and exceptional theatre stars,” said Gayle Cameron from Taree Arts Council.
The workshop took place over two days at the Manning Entertainment Centre, with more than 40 people attending.
“I was thrilled with the attendance and outcomes of the course,” said Gayle, who added there was extremely positive feedback from course participants.
“Peter was able to bring his extensive experience to the diverse range of participants so that everyone could gain and build on a wide range of musical theatre skills.
“He provided invaluable feedback to those people who wished to sing a solo and improve their technique and presentation.
“The group learnt many integral skills of musical theatre during the course, including collaborating effectively as a team.”
As part of the activities, participants worked with Peter on the song At the End of the Day from Les Miserables.
A presentation to family and friends at the culmination of the course demonstrated the skills that had been learned over the two days.
“The group loved hearing about some personal anecdotes of Peter’s career and also hearing Peter sing two songs from musicals,” said Gayle.
