The Inter-House Swimming Carnival at the Wingham Pool was a great success. The winner of the Muxlow Family Swimming Trophy was 1st Wynter House, 2nd Gollan, 3rd Chapman and 4th Dean. The barbecue lunch provided by canteen supervisor Michelle and her helpers was very popular with the students. Michelle is on the lookout for more volunteers to help with the canteen which operates each day.
The school band started last week and will continue on Wednesday mornings at 9am.
A new initiative this year is the School Playgroup in the school hall on Mondays from 9.30am until 11am. New faces are always welcome.
The school will be collecting the Sports for Schools Coles Vouchers and would welcome everyone’s support when they do their shopping. Sports equipment for the students will be bought with these vouchers.
Tinonee Hall Meeting
The first meeting was on Monday, February 12, and the committee are looking at fundraising ideas. A booking has been confirmed for June 3, for the Upper Lansdowne Players A Pair of Shorts as part of the Manning Winter Festival.
Tinonee Progress Association
Wednesday, February 21, is the next information session for the formation of a new Tinonee Progress Association. It will be at the Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall at 7pm.
Spectacular sunset Sunday
How many saw the spectacular sunset on Sunday as a storm developed in the west? Disappointingly we didn’t get any benefit from it as it passed overhead.
Thanks to all
Many thanks to all the friends who wished John and I a happy 44th wedding anniversary on Friday, February 9. Their thoughts were very much appreciated.
Congratulations and happy 68th wedding anniversary to dear friends Barbara and Thomas Clarke of Wingham, for Sunday, February 11.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all for today.
