Critically acclaimed everywhere from Woodford to WOMADelaide, through to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Cambridge, the group that formed 17 years ago in the Blue Mountains has recorded six albums and toured the world, performing more than 560 gigs since 2001 to more than 250,000 people.
Described as a vast, rumbling, steam powered vocal behemoth with a combination of Georgian table songs, pin-drop beautiful ballads, highly inappropriate covers and immaculate man anthems, they've charmed international audiences armed only with their voices, a sly collection of hats and facial hair, and a twinkle in their eye.
Before the performance on Sunday February 25 at 2pm, Spooky Men's Chorale "chief spook" Stephen Taberner will provide an opportunity for the MidCoast's budding vocalists to learn from one of the world's most accomplished choral leaders.
The workshop kicks off from 10.30am - 12.30pm, and cost is $30 for workshop only, or a special discount ticket of $60 for both workshop and show.
Tickets are available online at www.theMEC.com.au, by phone on 6592 5466, through the MEC Box Office (Mon - Fri 10am - 1pm) or in Forster 7 days a week at the Stockland Customer Information Desk.
Tickets for the show are $40 (adult), $32 (Friend of the MEC 2018), $35 (concession) and $30 (student/under 21). Groups of eight or more can book for $32 each.
