Wingham Junior Rugby League Football club are pleased to announce the formation of their very own Referee Academy.

The Referee Academy is a specific program designed to help recruit, train and mentor our young referees as they gain experience.

You might not know that referees are paid to officiate games, so refereeing is a great way for kids to earn some pocket money while enjoying the game.

Refereeing is a fun, exciting, non-contact way to be involved with the sport. You get to see all of the action from the best position on the field and it’s a great way to keep fit at the same time.

You can choose to referee Mini League, Mod League, International or all three versions of the game.

The minimum age requirement is 13 years or older (boy or girl).

Each referee will be mentored by an experienced and qualified Group Three JRL referee. The participants will have an experienced referee on the sideline whilst they referee to help them gain on field refereeing experience.

If you are interested in becoming a referee and involved in the Referee Academy, please contact Simon Crowe, director of referees, Wingham JRL on 0428 535 499.
