This follows the success of the inaugural run held on Saturday.
Organiser, Jeff Reardon from the North Coast Speedboat and Recreation Group said there were 12 boats involved, with drivers coming from Sydney, Gunnedah, Queensland and the Mid North Coast area.
“The weather was perfect and it was certainly a spectacular sight.’’
He estimated that most drivers cruised the 90kms to Manning Point at around 45 miles per hour.
Jeff added that there were no major mechanical problems and all the boats made it back to Wingham after stopping for lunch at Manning Point.
The group is planning future events and will organise one in the Clarence River at Grafton, possibly early next summer. However, Jeff said the Wingham to Manning Point run will definitely be on the calendar.
“It’ll be bigger next year,’’ he predicted.
“I’ve already had a few inquiries.’’
