Another quiet week, as the last of the school holidays are with us and Australia Day falls on Friday. I hope everyone celebrates Australia Day in some special way at the celebrations in Wingham or Taree.

Be proud of our country and our flag along with those who have made this country great by their blood, sweat and tears. We have much to be grateful for and may we continue to enjoy our freedom and the lifestyle we all love so much.
I have included a photo from the past this week with my notes and wonder how many locals can remember the event 31 years ago. To my knowledge it was the first time we had an Australia Day ceremony in Tinonee and we have not had one since, however maybe their might be another some day.
Road works
Thanks to MidCoast Council which is undertaking some much needed road repairs on the busy Wingham/Tinonee Road. Patching took place last week and some of the equipment is still on site and signs are displayed so hopefully we will see further works done.
According the newsletter from our State and Federal politicians funds have been allocated for a replacement bridge at the small bridge just past the 60klm sign outside Tinonee, which for some time now has been reduced to one lane and 20 klms when crossing.
Had seen a great deal of activity to the Tinonee side of the bridge through the fence but it was by Midcoast Council Water Services as there was a major break in the water pipes which necessitated repairs.
Farewell to Member
Nine ladies of Wallamba CWA along with three Wallamba Show Ladies Committee members gathered at the Nabiac Hotel last Friday to extend good wishes to member and friend Norma Frieden who is leaving Nabiac with husband Ross to move closer to family. Norma and Ross will take up temporary residence at Nambucca Heads until their home is finished in a few months.
Norma was presented with several gifts during the lunch, on behalf of the CWA ladies, including a photo album of some memories of her time with the branch. Good luck and best wishes Norma from all and we promise to keep in touch.
Visit
Bryson and Cheryl Muldoon enjoyed a brief weekend visit from Bryson’s twin sister Rhonda and her husband David, of Albion Park on the South Coast. During their time in Tinonee they caught up with family members and attended St Luke’s Church Service on the Sunday morning. All too soon they were on their way back home but it was good to catch up with them both.
