Jack Pie
This fellow has many bowlers amazed and the selectors scratching their heads as to how Jack seems to be quite often in winning combinations and taking home bucket fulls of spoils. Some years ago he was at our club and became discontented, leaving to join Taree Railway. He returned full of confidence to Wingham Club and on Saturday he was fortunate to have as his skip a top Manning Point player, Peter Martin. Jason Nicholson was the other team member and they took home the major prize with a score of 49 points.

Coming in with 45 points were Greg Bartlett, Hunter Payton and Peter Hodge, also of Manning Point. On a count-back with 33 points and third position were Chris Kane, Peter Tindall and Laurie Rif with the same score going to Jim Gillogly, Daniel Leadbeater and Peter Holden. All 36 players involved scored a bottle of good spirit.
Wednesday – Dad's Army
It was once again Jack Pie and this time he had a very good visiting bowler backing him up, together with our club's aspiring number one lead – Glenn Gilford – to win the event with a +11. They accounted for Brian Williams, Snow Trenchard and Steve Pullman.
Peter Williams, Peter Holden and Graeme Mansfield got a +8 result over Greg Bartlett, Jason Nicholson and Tim Richardson. Jim Gillogly, Tony Baker and Allan Dodd took 12 ends to get off three shots against Dallas Hammond, Barry Kershaw and Allan as swinging lead. They then won the remaining ends to get a +4 win.
Wednesday Twilight
This week there will be some good food on offer to end this part of the season.
Recent winners were Matt Harris (got to 50 recently) and Peter Kriss who had a drawn game against Peter Howarth and Tony Colchen. Mark Hammond and Col McTaggart put it all together to crush Tony Lowman and Neil Greenaway by 22 shots.
Saturday
Saturday is an open event and is titled 'Pork" day and many of those who attend will be taking home some very goods sections of that meat.
