President Laurent Gorford said the raffle and canteen sales at the event raised almost $1000 and the money would be put towards the club goal to have new lights installed at the oval to enable night games.
It’s a grand goal, as Mr Gonford said the lights would cost between $100,000 and $150,000. The Bob Collier Oval is the club’s home ground but it is also the home field for Hallidays Point Cricket Club.
The annual Tinonee Carols event unites the small community and it was described as a “great night of fun, music and friendship” by Tinonee Rural Fire Brigade members.
The Club Taree Concert Band performed, Manning Valley Lions Club hosted train rides and Tinonee Public School students also sang carols.
The community is now preparing to celebrate the return of Santa for a tour of Tinonee in a rural fire brigade truck on Friday, December 15.
