The branch has invited NSW Farmers Livestock Policy Manager Annabel Johnson to outline new biosecurity requirements for livestock producers, which came into force on October 1.
Wingham Branch chair and Wherroll Flat farmer Dallas Worth said all farmers are invited to attend and provide feedback on their biosecurity plans.
“All livestock producers now require a biosecurity plan as part of the national Livestock Production Assurance program,” Mr Worth said.
“NSW Farmers has provided a template plan for producers and has been assisting Members with completing the plan. The Hunter LLS have also held a number of workshops.”
Mr Worth said the branch is also keen to get feedback from local food producers on the new native vegetation reforms.
“We will also have the DPI’s new Rural Resilience officer, Peter Brown, at the meeting to provide information on support and funding available to local farmers.”
The NSW Farmers Wingham Branch meeting will be held at the Wingham RSL Club, starting at 6.30pm. Finger food and light refreshments will be provided free.
