The encounter became a battle until the 14th end when the score was even at 10 apiece with Graeme’s side picking up five shots and then leading by seven two ends later. However on the 18th end Peter and his team collected six shots to be only a shot in arrears and then held on to take the game and go to the final.
Wednesday -’Dad’s Army’
It was a bad day for Dallas Hammond as the skip in his team of John Black and Tim Richardson by going down by 20shots to Greg Bartlett, Jim Gillogly and Glenn Gilford. On the third end Dallas went down by eight shots and for some reason on two occasions he decided to play his bowl on the adjoining rink and of course a monetary penalty after the game. Brian Williams, Barry Kershaw and Peter Holden finished with a +2 over Steve Knott, Ray McNeill and Allan Dodd. Peter Williams, Dennis Rolfe and George Floyd got up by a shot against Jack Pie, Ben Wolters and Tony Baker.
Wednesday Twilight
Peter Kriss and Cliff Bush took home the bacon by defeating Jim Gillogly and Mark Hammond by a shot. Hunter Payton, Tony Lowman and Greg as swinging lead had a nine shot victory against Col McTagget and J Campbell. Wayne Goward and B. Reeve had a single shot win over Peter Howarth and Tony Colchen.
Saturday Open
Dallas Hammond reversed his Wednesday form to have in his team Max Morris and Tim Richardson to have a huge +34 win over John Black, Tony Baker and Ben Catney. Greg Bartlett and Dennis Rolfe finished with a +13 against Leonie Gilford and Lorraine Rolfe. Peter Tindall and Glenn Gilford had a +3 win over Graeme Ireland and Maureen Hollebone. Chris Kane, Claudia O’Donnell and Peter Holden had a two shot win over Ian Furner, Alana Burns and David O’Donnell.
