The funding includes $800,000 for Bobin Creek Bridge, $600,000 for the Bulga Creek Bridge at Bobin, $750,000 for Emu Creek Bridge south of Bulahdelah and $800,000 for the Burrell Creek Bridge at Kimbriki.
The grant funding represents about half of the total cost of the works.
Lyne MP Dr David Gillespie announced funding for 14 new bridge projects across the Hastings and Mid Coast Council areas.
"This is a major shot in the arm for both MidCoast Council and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and will help fast track many important projects in the local roads and bridges program," Dr Gillespie said.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester said the $162.53 million funding toward round three of the bridges renewal program was in addition to the $216 million committed under the first two rounds.
The announcement has been welcomed by MidCoast Council’s general manager, Glenn Handford, and will contribute to an ongoing focus on improving our roads and bridges across the MidCoast region.
Road improvements are already being realised across the region, and almost $1 million has been invested to date in repairing timber bridges, the general manager said.
