What a glorious week it has been to play golf. On Tuesday August 1 the ladies played the last round of their championship. The champions are Denise Polley club champion with Katrina Greenaway runnerup, Pat Whiteley was the nett winner.

Division Two was won by Noelene Nelson, with Kathy Knapp r/up, nett winner Trish Eacott. Division Three winner Robyn Dudgeon, r/up Volda Humphries, nett winner Belida Tonkin. The 54 nett winner was Gay Wagener and Pat Whitrley is the club veterans champion. Congratulations.
The ladies also played for the Jill Hampton Trophy and a Monthly Medal the winner was Robyn Dudgeon with 69 nett. Division One gross winner was Denise Polley, with Katrina Greenaway winning the nett, Pat Whiteley was runnerup. Division Two gross Cheryl Andrews, Nett Jill Hampton. The nearest the pin winners on the third Janice Surtess, and she also won the seventh for Division One. Division Two Kath Knapp, Division Three Robyn Dudgeon and on the seventh Division Two Trish Eacott, Division Three Cheryl Andrews.
Wednesday Veterans
On Wednesday August 2 the veterans played for the August Monthly Medal. The winner was Alex Wilson 68 nett on a c/b, next was Danny Mills 68, Steve Wheatley 69. OBE Peter Christie and Brian Roberts won the putting with 29. Graham Troth was the winner of the NTP on the 3rd/12th. Courtney Adamson was the winner on the 7th/16th. David Homewood won the 9th/18th. There were 45 players.
Thursday Chook Run
On Thursday August 3, 38 players contested the LJ Hooker Chook Run. The winner was Alex Kees with 24pts c/b, next was Pat Whiteley 24 c/b, Ian Scarr 24, Kris Mudford 21 c/b, Brenden Walker 21, Greg Sattler 20, Lesley Steel 19. Sandy Dunn won the NTP on the third, Brenden Walker on the seventh.
Taree Toyota monthly mug
Saturday August 5 dawned a beautiful day before the wind came up. Fifty-eight players went around for the Taree Toyoto Monthly Mug. The winner was Reid Brown with a great four under par round playing off a scratch handicap for a 68 nett. He also won the Drummond Golf Tropy. Neal Evenden was the A Grade nett winner, gross Nev Blanch, B Grade nett Adam Buchtman, gross Bill Osborne, C Grade nett John Turner, gross Peter Tait. Chantelle Steere was the ladies winner with a great 66 nett. The MRD Electrical medal was won by Reid Brown, Adam Buchtman, John Turner. The long drives donated by the Golf Club Motor Inn were won by Damo Moore, Aaron Hardy, Cam Potts. The sharp shooters were on the 1st/10th Wingham Plaza Butchers Reid Brown, Wingham Gourmet Meats 3rd/12th Sandy Dunn, 4th/13th Neale Evenden, 7th/16th Bayview Seafoods Terry Harris, 9th/18th Bent on Food Syd Gilfillan. Balls went to 77 nett with Garry Masters winning the last one.
