RSL NSW branch vice president Peter Stephenson unveilled the memorial before Reverend Darrell McKeough performed the official dedication.
The Centenary of Anzac memorial honours all Australian defence and peace keeping service men and women over the past 100 years, noting the many people from Wingham and the Upper Manning area who have served our country.
Wet weather didn't prevent a good turnout for the ceremony, held immediately following the Australia Day celebrations at the Wingham Memorial Town Hall.
This community event was initiated and managed by the Wingham RSL sub-branch and funded by the Australian Government's Centenary of Anzac Local Grants Program.
The Anzac Place Project Committee was led by project manager Mave Richardson AM PSM, with secretary Ian Martin, treasurer Tony Weston and committee members Ted Bowen and Andrew Green.
Local artist Jane Hosking designed the memorial.
