Dundaloo, a local provider of accommodation and support for people living with an intellectual disability won the categories of Excellence in Business Ethics, Employer of Choice , and Business of the Year, Overall Winner
The Awards Gala was held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Taree, Wingham Race Club and was hosted hosted by the Manning Valley Business Chamber.
The crowd, which numbered around 250 people rose to their feet and cheered with gusto, when it was announced that Dundaloo Support Services had won Business of the Year.
While Dundaloo is a not for profit business it adds considerable income to the local economy, hence their appreciation that the business community and Chamber recognise all businesses that add value to our region.
Dundaloo has been part of the Manning community for over 60 years and in recent times has been transformed with state of the art accommodation facilities and the provision of professional person centred service provision.
After many years of lobbying and negotiation, Dundaloo received $9.7 million from the NSW state government for the construction of five new group homes, which are located in Taree, Wingham and Old Bar.
In the past 12 months an additional 30 permanent staffing positions have been filled and the service has secured an extra $1.3 million in recurrent funding.
