Thanksgiving celebrations in Wingham are planned to commemorate the occasion at the end of this month.
The guest speaker on this occasion will be the Rev David Cook, who is currently the Moderator General of the Presbyterian Church of Australia.
Rev Cook is married to Maxine and they have five grown children and twelve grandchildren.
He has pastored two churches, at Wee Waa and Ashfield, prior to becoming principal at the Sydney Missionary and Bible College, where he served for 25 years.
Since his retirement from the College, Rev Cook assists with the ministry at the Chinese Presbyterian Church at Surry Hills, and his duties as Moderator General for the Presbyterian Church of Australia.
Rev Cook also has an international preaching ministry where his gift for Bible teaching and evangelistic preaching is valued greatly.
His wife Maxine will accompany him when he visits Wingham.
The thanksgiving functions will be held on Saturday and Sunday August 30 and 31.
On Saturday evening, there will be a congregational meal in the church hall and on Sunday a special Thanksgiving service at 11am.
The 11am start has been chosen to allow the public and people from other denominations to attend and listen to Rev Cook speak.
After the Thanksgiving service, a cup of tea or coffee will be available in the church hall.
The Wingham and Krambach congregations of the church are greatly looking forward to Rev David Cook coming to us in Wingham.
We would love to have you come and share with us, and listen to him preach on Sunday on Psalm 73 - "Two ways to Think."
Should you want any further information please contact Rev Michael Deal on 6553 0077 or the session clerk, Mr John Rooimans on 6553 4431.
