WINGHAM Tigers were at home to the Port City Breakers in the final game of the first round of the Group Three Rugby League competition.

The visitors scored in the 10th minute to lead 6-0.
Midway through the half, Aaron Bakewell scored in the canteen corner. Michael Rees' sideline conversion levelled the scores at 6-6.
Ten minutes from the break, Michael Richards, playing his 100th game for the Tigers, dived on a dropped ball in the in-goal area to put the Tigers ahead 10-6.
Port City took the lead again straight after half time with a try under the posts.
Ten minutes later, another try gave the Breakers an 18-10 advantage.
At the midway point of the second half, Mitch Steel scored from a grubber kick. Matt Bridge added the extra points and Wingham trailed by two points.
But minutes later, the Port City dummy half scooted out and ran 25 metres to score and give the visitors a 24-16 lead.
Two more tries to the Breakers in the final seven minutes made the final score 36-16 on one of those days that little went right for the Tigers.

Reserve grade
The reserve grade Tigers continued their winning ways, leading 12-0 at half time with tries to Brock Howard and Nick Beacham, along with a conversion and penalty goal to Nick Beacham.
Tries in the first and 20th minutes of the second half, the latter converted by Garyn Burnes, gave Wingham a 22-0 lead.
Five minutes later, Brendan Butler scored, and Garyn Burnes added the extra points.
A late try to Port City made the final score 28-4.

Under 18s
The Tigers under 18s did it tough against the last placed Port City team.
The Breakers led 12-0 before Reece Slaven scored just before half time. Fletcher Lewis converted the try. Ty Brislane scored early in the second half for the Tigers to trail 12-10.
Five minutes later, Jake Mullen scored under the posts, and Fletcher Lewis added the extra points.
Both teams had chances to score, but when the siren sounded, Wingham were ahead 16-12.

League tag
The Wingham league tag were beaten 16-8, but not disgraced. The scores were 4-4 at half time with Brooke Atkins crossing for the Tigers.
Inside the first 10 minutes of the second half, the scores were 8-8 thanks to a try by Maraea Wynyard.
Port City scored two more tries to record the victory.
