MANNING Winter Festival Committee has decided to extend the deadline for nominations for the 2014 Visual and Performing Arts Awards to Tuesday, May 6. 

The committee encourages the people of the Manning to think about the talented people among us and put pen to paper and submit nominations for the awards.

"There is a wealth of diverse talent in our valley," said committee president George Hoad. "This is an opportunity to recognise the many amazingly talented people who work so hard to contribute to our wonderful lifestyle choices in this area of regional NSW."

There are three award categories: Visual Arts, Performing Arts and a Special Arts Award for those who have made significant contributions to the cultural development of the Manning Valley. 

Nominations must be posted to: Secretary, Manning Winter Festival, PO Box 336, Taree 2430, by the closing date.

All nominees will be recognised and awards will be announced at a public gala event to be held at the Manning Regional Art Gallery in Taree on Friday, June 20, starting at 6pm. Tickets will be available at the door.
