Police were patrolling a licenced premises in Taree at about 12.10am on Sunday morning when they were informed of an alleged assault on a patron.
The police and security personnel requested a 23 year old Tinonee man to leave. He failed to comply with the request and head butted an officer without warning. The man was immediately arrested and restrained by police.
He was taken to Taree Station and charged with assaulting a police officer causing actual bodily harm, failing to quit a licensed premises when required and resisting arrest.
The man was bail refused for Taree Local Court on March 30. He was later given strict bail next for mention at Taree Local Court on April 14.
The 23 year old man is a known member of an outlaw motor cycle gang.
