- A 23 year old Tinonee man has been arrested for assaulting a police officer reported the Manning-Great Lakes LAC. The arrest took place in a licenced premises in Taree at about 12.10am Sunday.

- Manning Clean Water Action Group announced a free film night will be held next week at the Wingham Town Hall to further educate locals on the impact of unconventional gas mining. The two heart-wrenching Australian made films will be screened on Friday April 11 at Wingham Town Hall, 6.30 for 7pm start.

- Tickets are selling fast for the 16th annual Shakespeare in Gloucester Festival to be held in May. Newcastle’s Stooged Theatre Company returns to Gloucester for the first time since 2010 and will be presenting the classic Merchant of Venice.

- Students from Wingham primary schools took part in the Buderus 7s Primary School Rugby League Gala at Taree Recreation Centre today.

-  Wingham High School students Ellana George and Sienna Hawkins have qualified for the State Inter School Equestrian Championships in June.

- Planning is underway for the third round of the 2014 Glowalman Trifecta to take place at the Wingham Showgrounds later in the year and not Nabiac as previously expected. This will incorporate the NSW Championship Junior Rodeo.

-   A new two day course aims to improve the Manning community’s capacity to deal with the impact of natural disasters. The Manning Area Disaster Resilience Leadership Course will be held on Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18 at Club Taree.

- Has Maggie found her Isabella? It looks like a suitable actress has been found to play Isabella Mary Kelly in the upcoming Wingham based play by Maggie Young. The identity of the lead is to be confirmed.
