AFTER a rare toss win Wingham chose to bat first against Old Bar in the A4 grand final. In what was a great team effort, Wingham finished with 208 runs, on a ground that was quite slow due to the heavy conditions and a solid bowling attack from Old Bar. Contributions of 42 Paul Kelly, 34 Fletcher Lewis, 31 Leigh Niven, 27 Faron Saxby kept the innings going for Wingham whilst other batsman chipped in for a healthy total.

Wingham then went into bowl and a great run out by Josh Essery off his own bowling broke the opening partnership of Old Bar.
Some tight fielding created several chances for Wingham but wickets were hard to come by. Darryl Johnston then took a good catch behind the stumps to get Wingham going again. All bowlers used put in a great effor and were backed up by their fieldsmen. The wickets were shared by bowlers with J Essery 3/35, S Manny 2/25, F Saxby 2/13 and C Creighton 2/2.
"It was an enjoyable season for the boys but I think we will all benefit from the off season!" captain Leigh Niven joked.
A big thank you to Paul Manny and Jodi Johnston for their help through the season.
