Supply was restored to the remaining 560 customers on Wedensday, with the final restoration about 7.30pm. These customers were predominantly in the Dungog, Gresford, Bulahdelah and Tea Gardens areas.
Scattered throughout the region, and included in the above figure, were a significant number of low voltage, single premise repairs relating to damaged low voltage services and blown fuses.
During the day, a helicopter was tasked to carry out aerial patrols of two badly damaged high voltage powerlines in the Allyn River and Paterson River areas. It was able to identify a number of faults, which were repaired by ground crews.
More than 150 Essential Energy lineworkers and electrical technicians were involved in the power restoration effort over the past four days.
Essential Energy appreciated the assistance of more than 2 Ausgrid workers.
Visiting crews have begun returning home. Crews sourced from Dubbo, Wellington, Narromine and Gilgandra will return home tomorrow.
Due to the severity of the storm and the extent of the damage, it is possible there may still be unreported / unknown faults on the network.
Essential Energy encourages customers to report any faults or power problems on 13 20 80 as a matter of urgency
