The club's indoor introduction to archery every Thursday at 6pm in our Wingham Showground indoor hall is still proving to be popular with an influx of new people wishing to learn this great family sport. Everything is supplied to help you get started or just drop in for a cuppa and view what we do.
The 3D feral animal shoots in our club facilities and grounds at Killawarra also attracting plenty of interest for the newer archers and gives the members a chance to hone in their skills. These targets are set up amongst the forest on alternate Sundays to try and create a natural habitat for the day's shoot.
The club's annual general meeting was held recently and we welcome the new members to the executive committee and thank the previous personnel for their wonderful effort over the past year.
Members have been busy representing the club and competing in the many tournaments around the country and have done the club proud as usual.
The most recent was the huge Northern Rivers competition at Casino where member, Owen Kirkman was the overall highest scorer, taking out first place, and member Alaana Elvin showing what our ladies can do with a wonderful second.
The club also entered in the team event. The team consisting of Owen, Brandon and Mike Elvin was placed second on the podium.
Great to see our other members right up there with some of the best in the country and to see Brandon Kirkman returning to represent us after an absence from the sport but still showing he has most of his old form. Congratulations to all for a brilliant result.
If we have sparked an interest and you would like any further information regarding archery or our club, please contact the following Owen Kirkman on 6552 6163 or John Stephenson on 6553 6018.
