Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead made the official 'big cheque' presentation last Wednesday.
Secretary of the Wingham Show Society, Raelene Marshall said the grant was obtained to replace power boxes on the event camping sites and some other lighting to brighten up dark areas at night.
Raelene also said the Showground Trust had applied for funding to repair the roads within the Showgrounds but that it was not successful this time.
In a recent series of grant applications $60,000 has been applied for to replace powerlines and lamp posts that would bring in the amount of power that is available.
"Unfortunately these things take time," said Raelene
"And even if succesful the funds would not be available in time to fix up the power issues for the next Rodeo.
"Quotes are being obtained for larger generators to sort out existing power troubles in the meantime," said Raelene.
This grant would also pay for upgrades to toilet bowls, fire doors and the shed.
It is all necessary work according to Raelene and $60,000 is only the tip of the iceburg she said.
