The Mid North Coast team had seven representatives, captain Tom Burley (Cundletown), Jay Withers and Ben Whitbread (Forster), Ryan Yates (Gloucester) and Ryan Morris, Mitch Niven and Jesse Newman from Wingham. The remaining members of the team came from the Port Macquarie and Kempsey areas.
Mid North Coast played Tamworth first up at JMO. MNC scored a convincing win with Man of the Match Mitch Niven 5-13.
Day two
THEY played Far North Coast at Chatham Park. MNC scored 82 runs and bowled FNC out for just 28 runs. Man of the Match Mitch Niven with 6-10.
Day three
THEY played Hunter Valley at Chatham Park. MNC scored another goal to win. Man of the Match Jay Withers with 53 runs and Mitch Niven 4-32. After winning all three games this then put MNC through to the final to play North Coast at JMO on Thursday.
Final
MID North Coast won the toss and batted first and after 49-3 overs were 202 runs. Jay Withers (37), Tom Burley (14), Ryan Yates (14) and Ryan Morris with a valuable 29. North Coast started well but Ryan Morris bowled their opener and Mitch Niven off his bowling secured a run out with tight bowling and great fielding.
MNC introduced spin bowler Ben Whitbread who took six wickets, 21 runs off 10 overs.
This helped to restrict NC to be all out for 163 off 44.4 overs. A great team win with some wonderful catches.
For a third year in a row MNC were victorious after a convincing win. The team were coached by Dave Burley.
Mitch Niven's 16 wickets for the carnival made him Man of the Carnival and also bowler of the carnival.
