Prior to Christmas the annual Wingham Pool Pride relay was held in true festive spirit.
At the end of the mayhem Wingham Rural Fire Service emerged the winners with bragging rights for the next 12 months.
Wingham Beefeaters ate up the competition to lift the intermediate trophy, Taj and Tallulah Greaves, Jordanna and Shyanna Wardrop.
The man in the red suit capped off a great night. Rumour has it second clubs are in training for this years event.
The appointment by the YMCA of swimming coaches Jeremy and Stacey Wardrop has seen tremendous improvement in the swimmers who have utilised this service with several swimmers obtaining success at both Swimming North Coast and Regional Country carnivals.
Shyanna Wardrop and Jordan Moscatt have qualified to represent Wingham Swimming Club at the State Age Championships to be swum at Sydney Olympic Park on January 17. Swimmers are reminded that nominations are due for the Speedo Sprints Series at Kempsey and qualifying carnival at Wauchope on February 1 and 8 respectively. The Gloucester Development Carnival is also a great day out which over the years has proved to be successful for Wingham Swimmers.
