St Patrick’s Day
President Judy Cluss welcomed 33 folk to Tinonee and District Red Cross branch’s annual St Patrick’s Day Luncheon which raised funds for the 70th Red Cross Calling Appeal. Guests came from Mt George, Taree and Forster-Tuncurry Red Cross, Wingham CWA members, and several Tinonee locals dressed in a touch of green or orange.
The tables were decorated in the colours of the Irish Flag which created a wonderful atmosphere. Mount George Red Cross member Kitty Tisdell brought along her accordian for a few tunes as the guests sang along.
The raffle was won by Norma Watson of Forster-Tuncurry branch. Birthday wishes were extended to Tinonee treasurer Bev Clancy. The March meeting of the branch was on March 20, due to the usual date clashing with the Seniors Concert at Club Taree.
Historical Society
Members and interested persons are welcome to the March meeting of Tinonee Historical Society tomorrow evening, Thursday March 22, at the museum at 7.30pm. The Museum will be closed from Good Friday until Tuesday, April 3.

The hall is planning a Market Day on Saturday, April 28, and has accepted the offer from the Lansdowne Players, who will perform two one-act plays at a matinee performance on June 3 in conjunction with the Manning Winter Festival. More details in the coming weeks.
Catastrophic Bushfires
We woke on Monday morning to hear and see the terrible bushfires in Tathra NSW and in Victoria. We must never be complacent when it comes to fires and have a readiness plan in case of such an event. Thanks to the wonderful work of all the emergency services that come to the rescue in times of disaster.
