It has been a very quiet week this week as I think everyone has been chased back indoors after venturing out when showers ceased.

You’d no sooner get your outside gear together and go to work on what needed doing and down the showers would come again.
Believe me, though, I am not complaining as we all needed the rain.
I might mention that the oval has greened up very well after its last trim and the workers will need to get back there and work on the tennis court as it has sprouted a nice crop of grass again.
We seem to have almost been going three steps forward and two steps back in our efforts to get things happening at the reserve.
Have you been thinking of what activities we might be able to use the reserve for yet? The trustees have asked for your ideas but they have not had many given to them and we need definite plans if we are going to apply for grants to improve this town asset.
I was very pleased and envious when I got my last lot of literature form Fire Com in Taree, to see the firies who worked so hard during the outbreaks a few weeks ago are being recognised.
Krambach, Bundook, Firefly and Burrell Creek are saying a big “thank you” to those who gave them asistance in their area by organising a gala day at Krambach on Saturday, December 2, at the Krambach Hotel.
It starts at 2pm, with games for the children (and even the adults), a delicious sausage sizzle and continues into the evening with Sydney band, The Floorboards, playing a mix of ‘60s to ‘80s rock, blues and country music from 7.30pm. There will also be a fundraising raffle.
RSVPs are needed for catering purposes, so please let Kev, Firefly DC know on 0458 487 481 by Saturday, November 25, if you are bringing someone who helped out. I must commend the communities on their support and recognition of the efforts all the firies put in during that time of trouble in the area. Well done.
Still on the fire theme, Mount George citizens will receive a notice in their letterboxes this week outlining the rules and regulations about what they need to do before they light fires within the village and surrounding close area.
Please read the notice and comply with its contents or you will be receiving a vist from the RFS who will explain the rules more fully and might even be kind enough to give you an early Christmas present in the form of a fine for not following protocol.
If you have any questions about the rules and regulations feel free to attend the next RFS meeting next Tuesday, November 28, at 7pm, at the fire shed, and ask for them to be cleared up, so you keep out of trouble.
