Lewis has played for Wingham for the past two seasons. He was captain-coach in 2016 and guided the Tigers to the preliminary final – the club’s best result in a decade.
He stayed with Wingham this year, however, a knee injury and suspension limited his appearances. He will have to complete the suspension before he is available for his new club.
A regular in group and North Coast teams, Lewis also had stints with Forster-Tuncurry, Taree City, Port City and Old Bar.
The Rams will be coached by former Forster-Tuncurry player Troy Hilder, who is now working in the area.
Wingham last week confirmed Danny Russell will be captain-coach for next year’s Group Three competition.
The Tigers expect to announce minor grade coaches within a month. Wingham won the reserve grade premiership last season but missed the semi-finals in the other grades.
