Mr Barilaro asked to stop in at Bent on Food to experience the food at the multi-award winning cafe and talk with owner Donna Carrier.
The drop in was part of a tourist food trail Mr Barilaro is conducting in NSW.
While in Wingham Mr Bromhead took the opportunity to show the deputy premier around other Wingham locations and discuss possible new projects which would require State funding.
On the agenda was a visit to the Wingham Showground where Mr Bromhead showed the deputy premier the cattle pavilion and the rodeo arena and discussed the need for an undercover equestrian area. They also discussed the option of upgrading facilities for larger events such as Beef Week and RYAG which could benefit from new changing rooms, showers and toilets for those attending and staying onsite.
Mr Bromhead said he was pushing for $50m to fund projects in the electorate. He kept Mr Barilaro busy on his two day visit to the area with visits to Buladelah, Nabiac, Cundletown, Forster and Taree to discuss a number of new initiatives Mr Bromhead hopes will attract support.
A sports centre of excellence in Taree is on the wishlist as is “something really special” on Forster main beach. High on the list of priorities of course is improvement to roads and bridges.
