Some great skateboarders have emerged from Wingham’s own skate park but the latest trend is freestyle scooter riding.

We caught up with some local riders who are not only learning some tricky moves, but taking their action to the screen.
With their own You Tube channel ‘Wingham Production’ some of these boys have developed quite a following already.
“It’s fun, we enjoy progressing,” said Finn Farland.
Three of the boys, including Finn and Harry, held scooter riding workshops at the PCYC during the school holidays teaching mostly eight and ten year olds.
They said it was their opportunity to give back to the community.
Having their own skate park to practice in is a big bonus for the boys who enjoy hanging out in Wingham.
“It’s great, it’s not the best but it’s a skate park and we can use it,” said Finn.
