The event is sponsored by Firebrand Smokin the Valley 2017.
This year there will be 30 of the top Australian barbecue teams competing in the Brisket Challenge and the team will be running the first ever junior barbecue competition with the Australian Barbeque Alliance for children aged between eight and 16 years.
Ten junior competitors have so far put their hands up to compete but more are needed.
They are looking for 15 in total and with some great sponsors on board, and all the meat and equipment supplied, it promises to be a fun opportunity for the juniors.
For anyone who has a child that is passionate about the barbecue call Grant Coleman on 0418 203006. There are mentors in place for the juniors competing.
The local public will be able to access the barbecue area free on Saturday and Sunday of the Akoostik Festival via the cnr of Gloucester Road and Skinner Street gate on Saturday noon until 6pm and Sunday 9am-3pm.
