All the hard work involved in setting up early on Saturday morning was well worth it for the members of Tinonee Historical Society when they held a garage sale at the Museum.
The weather was fine and sunny despite the wind and the passing traffic generated by the local government elections being held at the Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall was an added bonus.
Keen lookers were there as members began setting up and continued right from around 7am to 1.30pm. Members would like to thank everyone for their support, with all funds raised going towards the ongoing maintenance and running costs of keeping the Museum open for all to enjoy. Many thanks to Mick and Mel at Tinonee General Store who again donated the lovely fruit and vegetable raffle prize.
If you haven’t visited the Museum and would like to do so, the opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 10am-2pm and on Saturday 12.30pm-3.30pm. New members are always welcome, phone 6553 1571.
School News
Wednesday was a riot of costumes and colour when the Tinonee Public School held their Book Week parade and the staff as well as the students entered into the spirit of the day. Looking at the newsletter it appeared as all had a lot of fun and the book fair held in conjunction was also very successful.
Young Saffron is working hard raising funds to assist her journey to Barcelona, Spain in November when she will represent the Australian Futsal Association and to defray some of her expenses there will be a movie premier of The Emoji Movie at Fay’s Twin Cinemas Taree on Thursday September 14 from 6pm with tickets available for adults and children from Tinonee Public School Office if you would like to help Saffron reach her goal.
On September 18 K-2 will be going on their Timbertown excursion and next day the school will come alive with Tinonee’s Got Talent, the P & C meeting and the school disco during the evening.
School term ends on Friday September 22 and I think students and staff will be looking forward to it after a busy Term 3.
